The studio
Crafted pattern, considered interiors.
Maryke is a South African textile pattern design studio specialising in surface pattern design for upholstery and interior fabrics. The studio balances the character of a heritage textile house with the clarity of a contemporary studio — a considered design partner for interiors brands, manufacturers and clients seeking distinctive surface patterns, from Asian-inspired prints to tactile, richly coloured upholstery designs.

Personality
Elegant rather than formal. Warm rather than rustic. Crafted rather than twee. Editorial rather than corporate. The identity makes room for the pattern artwork to take centre stage.
Values

How a pattern gets made
Every Maryke pattern starts as an original design, developed in the studio rather than licensed in from elsewhere. Once a colourway is approved, the studio sources the right cloth or paper stock and arranges printing or weaving with trusted production partners — so what reaches a client is a finished product, not a raw file.
Manufacturers can also license Maryke designs for their own products — bedding, apparel, stationery, homeware and more. Read about design licensing.
